Arts in the Park performances will take place at the Glen Huntington Bandshell in the city’s Civic Area and run from May to September.
“Arts in the Park is a great opportunity for the city to support our local arts and culture organizations and provide great opportunities for our community to celebrate and connect,” said Events Manager Justin Greenstein. “Our community members are creative and inspirational, so this summer event series is an excellent opportunity for residents, local organizations, and performers to showcase their talents.”
Colorado-based artist Jerod Barker designed the logo and the poster for this year’s Arts in the Park.
The first performance is Mahler at the Movies on Friday, May 20 followed by Streetwise Art Battle (a Boulder Creek Fest Event) from May 28-30 and Cultural Caravan on Thursday, June 2.
The Mahler Fest and Streetwise Art Battle are free to the public!
UPDATE: Due to anticipated inclement weather, the Friday, May 20 Arts in the Park performance of "Mahler at the Movies" has moved from the Bandshell to Mountain View United Methodist Church at 355 Ponca Place.
Arts in the Park Signature Performances sponsored by the city include the Boulder Ballet (June 10–11), Boulder Symphony (July 4), Boulder Opera (July 29-30), and Boulder Philharmonic (August 26-27) with more sponsored performances to be announced.
