If you are a professional artist that lives or works in Boulder, we want to hear from you during this year's Artist Census! This series of studies will help us learn more about the important role artists play in our local economy and society. Opportunities for artists to participate in studies include an online census questionnaire and in person focus groups. If you would like to be considered for a focus group, please fill out an interest form.

Applications for the Creative Neighborhoods Mural Program are now open! This new program provides resources for community members to work with a local artist to create a mural in their neighborhood that celebrates the area and encourages social cohesion. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis within 10 subcommunities and will close Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2024 at 11:59 p.m.

The City of Boulder's Office of Arts and Culture is seeking artists to create original works of art for the future Western City Campus building, parking garage and plaza. Artists can apply now to three public art projects with budgets ranging from $100,000 to $450,000. The selection panel is especially interested in artists who can demonstrate an understanding of the area’s history, landscape and culture. Learn more about the projects and apply by visiting the public art program page. Applications close Friday, June 28 at 11:59 p.m.

Enjoy free downtown walking tours of Boulder's public art throughout the summer! Each tour will last 1.5 hours and features approximately 30 stops highlighting an array of sculptures, murals and works of urban design. Guided tours will be offered most Saturday mornings and Wednesday evenings. Tours run through Saturday, August 31. Registration is required.

The Boulder Arts Commission and staff of the Office of Arts and Culture are seeking feedback on the 2024 Grants Program. Each year, we gather input on the grant process – from the application to panel process to reporting – from community members and integrate it into our program. This aids in ensuring that the program helps to fulfill the goals of the Community Cultural Plan and is as smooth and easy as possible for all. Please share your feedback.
