Single Car Crash Damages Multiple Cars

BOULDER, Colo. – Boulder Police are investigating a single vehicle crash this morning that damaged about a dozen cars in a parking lot.

Just after 4 a.m., officers were called to 34^th Street and Baseline and found a Subaru Outback on top of cars in the Williams Village parking lot of the University of Colorado Boulder campus. The initial investigation shows that the driver, a 34-year-old male, was driving south on 34^th Street north of Baseline and hit the grass median at a high rate of speed, likely going airborne. He then crashed into multiple parked cars on the other side of Baseline. Officers believe between 10 and 12 cars were damaged.

The driver was transported to the hospital with serious bodily injury. None of the parked cars were occupied and no other injuries have been reported.

Charges are pending. Traffic officers believe speed was a factor and are investigating whether the driver was impaired.

As in every criminal case, these charges are an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty.
