Project Overview

The 2026 Trailhead Improvement Project will include:

  • Foothills Trailhead
  • Flatirons Vista Trailhead
  • North Teller Trailhead

The Foothills Trailhead work is up first - beginning Monday, Feb. 23.

Flatirons Vista Trailhead work will begin Monday, March 30.

Foothills Trailhead Closure

The Foothills Trailhead will be closed for approximately 6 weeks for a major trailhead renovation beginning Monday, Feb. 23. Trails in the area will remain open, unless closed for muddy conditions. Visitors may access trails from either the Boulder Valley Ranch or Four Mile Creek Trailheads.

Trailhead improvements include:

  • Improve accessibility and multi-modal access (concrete ADA parking spot and updated bike racks)
  • Enhance accessibility for visitors experiencing disabilities
  • Widen the parking lot to make it safer and easier to navigate
  • Update infrastructure to current standards

Flatirons Vista Trailhead Closure

The Flatirons Vista Trailhead will be closed for approximately 3 months for a major trailhead renovation beginning Monday, March 30. Trails in the area will remain open, unless closed for muddy conditions. Visitors may access trails from the Greenbelt Plateau Trailhead.

Trailhead improvements include:

  • Improve accessibility and multi-modal access (concrete ADA parking spot and updated bike racks)
  • Enhance accessibility for visitors experiencing disabilities
  • Change trailhead footprint to better use space for horse trailers and additional parking
  • Update infrastructure to current standards
