New art at Valmont Park will help educate visitors about the function of the Valmont Rain Garden!

As part of the Valmont Rain Garden project, the city has commissioned a piece of 3D artwork that will creatively tell the story of the water cycle and demonstrate the importance of rain gardens to the health of our ecosystems.

Project Overview

This project will see Colorado-based artist Gregory Fields (Lafayette, CO) craft a unique artwork to complement the new rain garden at Valmont Park. The project aims to raise awareness about stormwater systems' role in water quality protection. The artwork will connect the rain garden system to public values like recreation and wildlife, fostering a sense of place and environmental engagement. It aims to educate the public on stormwater pollution while enabling direct interaction with the Stormwater Program.
