The Planning Board reviews and approves certain site and use review applications, studies long-range planning matters including the Boulder Valley Comprehensive Plan and makes recommendations to City Council. It also serves as an advisory board to City Council on applications for annexation and rezoning.
The Planning Board generally meets on the first and third, and occasionally fourth, Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. The board will meet either in the City Council Chambers, 1777 Broadway or hold the meeting Virtually. The dates, times and locations are subject to change.
The Planning Board's Next meeting will be on March 4th,
and it will be held virtually. The meeting will begin at 6PM.

The Planning Board consists of seven members appointed by City Council, each to a five-year term. One member of Planning Board is appointed to attend the Landmarks Board, Design Advisory Board and Housing Advisory Board meetings to act as a non-voting or ex-officio member.

Watch Planning Board Meetings
Planning Board meetings are usually broadcast live on Comcast channel 8 and streamed lived on www.BoulderChannel8.com. When virtual meetings are held, live viewing is available by using the web-based meeting link provided. Recorded versions of live and virtual meetings will also be available online at Watch Board and Commission Meetings. At times, Planning Board may meet at locations where there are no video facilities, and in those cases the audio recording of the meetings is available in the Planning Board Records Archive along with the meeting documents.
Speaking at Planning Board Meetings
Planning Board meetings are open to the public. When they are held in Council Chambers at the Municipal Building, 1777 Broadway, you may sign up to speak to Planning Board about city issues or any public hearing items that may be on the agenda that evening in person. Sign up with the Board Secretary the night of the meeting approximately 15 minutes before the start of the meeting. There is no online sign up for open comment. At times, Planning Board meetings may be held VIRTUALLY. These meetings will still be open to the public, and you are welcome to speak to Planning Board about city issues or any public hearing items that may be on the agenda that evening. To the extent practical, any person who wants to attend the meeting will be added to the meeting and will be muted. Any person who wants to testify should inform the moderator.
