Tom Watson Park

Boulder Parks and Recreation manages Tom Watson Park through a recreation lease with IBM. The park features a playground, shelter, and tennis and volleyball courts.

The department is working with IBM to develop recommendations for the park's management.

Recreate Safely

Tom Watson Park racket sport courts can be reserved.

Groups must be limited to 50 people or fewer. Glass containers, alcohol and private grills are prohibited.

The building with the restrooms and shelter has been permanently closed. A port-a-let and facilities are available at Coot Lake.

Be aware of safety conditions and fire bans through the Boulder Office of Disaster Management

Tom Watson Park Courts Project

The Parks Planning team is working with consultants on a design for 12 dedicated pickleball courts at Tom Watson Park.

This underutilized site with no nearby neighbors provides the city the opportunity to quickly build dedicated pickleball courts, addressing the need for pickleball courts and relieving pressure on current multi-sport (tennis and pickleball) courts.

These courts will be in addition to the existing four tennis courts at the site.

Nature Play Opportunities

The climbing structures and sandbox in Tom Watson Park’s playground provide opportunities for free play in a park targeted toward structured and programmed recreation.
