CTRL-SALT-DELETE, Say It Ain’t Snow! and Mac n’Freeze on this year’s snowplow team
Holiday Closures
In observance of the winter holidays, the City of Boulder is adjusting its operations schedules.
For the fourth year in a row, Boulder students named the city’s snowplow fleet. This winter, 17 winning names were selected to be featured on city snowplows, including a “winged” snowplow to help move more snow away from streets in a single pass. Name submissions featuring a winged theme were encouraged this year to help celebrate this addition to the city’s snow response equipment.
Here is the full list of winning names:
“This year, we expanded the contest to include our new piece of winged equipment, and received such creative names in the process,” said City of Boulder Business Services Supervisor Rene Lopez. “There were so many wonderful name entries, and I’d like to sincerely thank all the students who participated. Our hope with this is to help younger community members feel more connected to core city services.”
Pre-K through 12th grade students in Boulder were invited to craft and submit their favorite names for the city’s snowplows. Those who submitted winning names were given the opportunity to take a photo with the snowplow they named.
