Storytelling is a powerful way to share culture and preserve history. Bringing forward lost voices can capture the resilience of communities, create connections and build stronger communities. Professional storytelling and speaking coach, Johanna Walker will lead a free two-series workshop, Telling Your Story, on Tuesday, April 16 and 23, 6-8 p.m. at East Boulder Community Center.

Participants will:

  • learn secrets for uncovering stories you didn’t even know you had
  • learn the basic framework for building great stories
  • discover tools for bringing any story to life

“Storytelling is a powerful way to discover empathy for people who have life experience that is different from your own,” said Neighborhood Services Manager, Brenda Ritenour. “Finding our own stories helps us get in touch with our values and the experiences that have shaped us. Sharing stories brings us together and helps us hear each other, even when we disagree.”

People from all cultural backgrounds are encouraged to attend. Language interpretation and translated materials will be provided, as needed.

Registration is required as space is limited. To register and learn more, visit the city website.
