New recreation software brings enhanced accessibility and streamlined user experience for community members.
The City of Boulder prepares for the rollout of new Recreation Management Software (RMS), SmartRec by Amilia this November. SmartRec is set to replace the current contracted RMS, ActiveNet, to make a better user experience for community members by providing a more digitally accessible, all-in-one user experience to manage memberships, class sign-ups and court, pool lane and event space reservations at all city recreation facilities and Older Adult Services centers (West and East Age Well Centers).
“We are thrilled to introduce a more user-friendly software. This mobile-forward, modern software makes signing up for a class, reserving a space in one of our parks or visiting one of our facilities much easier,” says Director of Parks and Recreation, Ali Rhodes.
The software will officially go live on Friday, Nov. 14. Email invitations containing SmartRec account set-up instructions will be sent to current recreation members the week of Monday, Nov. 3. Existing membership data will be imported to the platform automatically. Account set-up for current users is simple and includes reviewing updated terms and conditions and adding a payment method.
Funding from the Health Equity Fund allows qualifying recreation members to reapply for the Parks and Recreation Financial Program as early as Thursday, Nov. 14 for financial assistance through December 31, 2026. Additional details will be available soon on the financial aid program webpage.
Recreation staff will host drop-in Amilia training sessions to assist community members, with dates to be released in October. FAQs and supporting information will be updated on Boulder Parks and Recreation website early November.
