Boulder area and Colorado-based artists are encouraged to apply to help guaranteed income recipients share how the project is impacting their lives.
The City of Boulder has issued a request for qualifications (RFQ) for artists to provide interactive, civic practice storytelling activities for community members participating in the city’s guaranteed income pilot project, Elevate Boulder. The full RFQ and submission instructions can be found on the city’s website. Submissions will be accepted through Saturday, May 31 at 5 p.m.
This RFQ is open to artists working in creative writing, video, monologue or other form of oral storytelling and the city intends that finished results or products will be shared publicly. Activities should be designed to position Elevate Boulder participants as storytellers themselves, rather than as subjects of an artist’s personal project.
Individuals, organizations and teams are encouraged to apply; preference will be given to Boulder and regional artists. The estimated budget for this proposal is $50,000 total, for all forms of storytelling. Respondents may submit a proposal for only one storytelling form for a smaller portion of the total budget, or multiple storytelling forms for a greater budget amount. Storytelling activities should take place between July and October 2025.
Storytelling activities produced through this funding will help participants share their stories and express how receiving direct cash assistance is impacting their lives and will also help build awareness of Elevate Boulder and its impacts.
