Final candidates will deliver brief remarks followed by moderated Q&A session

The City of Boulder invites the community to meet the finalists for Boulder’s police chief position on Tuesday, Aug. 27, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The community forum will be held in City Council Chambers, located at 1777 Broadway, and will also be livestreamed on the city’s YouTube channel and Boulder Channel 8.

During the event, each finalist will be invited to make some brief remarks followed by a moderated Q&A session. Community members are encouraged to submit questions in advance using the Police Chief Finalists Community Forum Q&A Form. All questions will be culled from those submitted through this form, which will remain open until noon on Monday, Aug. 26.

Following the event, attendees can share their perspectives on the candidates through a feedback form, available both in person and online for those attending virtually. Input from the community will be considered in the final selection process.

Spanish interpretation will be available in person and online. The city is happy to provide additional accommodations, including an American Sign Language interpreter, upon request. The city has not yet determined the finalists. The list of candidates will be narrowed through a round of semi-finalist interviews prior to the Aug. 27 event. The names and brief bios for each of the finalists will be shared and posted on the Police Chief Recruitment webpage as soon as these decisions are made. 8/23/2024 – Update: The city has identified the top three finalists for Boulder’s next police chief.
