Drug Task Force investigators searching home after felony menacing arrest.

No immediate danger to the public

The Boulder County Drug Task Force is conducting a search warrant operation in the 2800 block of 32nd Street this afternoon. The search warrant stems from the early morning arrest of an 18-year-old man accused of threatening his father with scissors.

Boulder Police responded to a call from the father at 6:15 a.m. When they arrived at the home, at 2810 32nd St. to investigate the complaint, they observed what appeared to be a pill press and unknown powdered substances.

The suspect, Dillon Gyurovits-Gade, date of birth 12/24/2003, was arrested on potential charges of felony menacing. Because of the larger drug implications, the city notified the Boulder County Drug Task Force for further assistance and investigation.

Out of an abundance of caution, the task force personnel will be accompanied by a fire truck and ambulance and will suit up in hazmat-related, protective gear. Officials want to emphasize that any danger associated with the unknown powdered substances appears to be confined to the inside of this home, and community members are not being asked to take any action steps at this time, except to allow investigators to maintain easy access into and out of the residence.

If anyone has any information to share about the suspect or the home in question, please email the task force at drugtaskforceinfo@bouldercounty.org or call the task force’s main line at 303-441-1690.

Additional charges could be filed depending on the evidence collected during this search and findings related to the ongoing investigation.

The focus for the Police Department and the task force this afternoon will be to execute the search in a safe and thorough manner. The city is not anticipating providing any stand-up interviews with the media at the location. A follow-up press release with more information will be prepared and distributed, likely in a couple of days, as more information becomes available.
