Immigrant Heritage Month grant application period extended

The city’s Human Relations Commission (HRC) has extended the application period for Immigrant Heritage Month (IHM) grants. IHM grant applications will be accepted through Monday, March 14, 2022, to give more organizations the chance to apply.

Each year, the city provides grants to local organizations to recognize IHM through events and celebrations that honor the immigrants who have shaped the city for generations. The grants support events that facilitate the successful integration of immigrants into the civic, economic and cultural life of the Boulder community.

The HRC recognizes the importance of educating the community on shared immigrant histories, diverse cultures and the role these play in shaping and enriching the life of the city with their contributions, unique customs and traditions of their ancestral homelands. IHM events help Boulder to grow as a safe and inclusive community.

Nonprofit groups are invited to submit grant proposals to host IHM events this June. Organizations that qualify will receive up to a $1,500 grant to help support their events. Additionally, the city’s Office of Arts and Culture is offering enhancement sponsorships of up to $2,000 for events that include arts components. Learn more and apply on the city’s website.
