The Boulder Police Department is asking for the public’s help to determine what happened to a dog that was found deceased in Viele Lake on Friday.

On Friday, Aug. 13, Boulder Police Animal Protection officers were called to the lake off of Harlow Platts Community Park after individuals found the body of a small dog on a makeshift boat that had been set on fire.

Animal Protection officers are trying to determine if this incident is a case of animal cruelty or a funeral for a pet. Anyone with any information is asked to call BPD Animal Protection at 303-441-1874.
