Family Play Festival returns in-person and at all locations! All Boulder Public Library branches will host various early literacy stations from Friday, April 22 to Sunday, April 24.

Each day the event will be held at a different location. Children five and under are welcome! Even babies are encouraged to get involved. It is never too early to practice early literacy skills.

  • Friday, April 22 from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. – Meadows Library Branch Meeting Room
  • Saturday, April 23 from 10 a.m.- noon - Main Library in Boulder Creek Room and Eldorado Room
  • Sunday, April 24 from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. – George Reynolds Branch Meeting Room

Each station will contain activities that focus on the five main early literacy goals: reading, writing, playing, singing, and talking. These goals establish crucial skills to help young children succeed in literacy. The read station will feature activities such as puzzles with three/four-letter words on them that establish vocabulary skills. Each station has modifications for babies to participate. They also have instructions for the activities in Spanish. Can’t make it? BPL offers several YouTube videos demonstrating activities to try at home.
