Officer-Involved Shooting on Baseline
BOULDER, Colo. – The Boulder Police Department is currently investigating an officer-involved shooting in the 1700 block of Baseline.
One adult male is dead at the scene. No officers are injured. There is no threat to the community.
At approximately 9:40 p.m. on Thursday, May 25, officers were called to a home for a report of domestic violence. The suspect, who had active felony warrants for domestic violence, told the victim he was coming to the home and he was known to carry a gun.
Officers were already on scene when the man arrived. There was a confrontation and the man pulled out a gun. Two officers fired their weapons and the man died at the scene.
The Boulder County Investigation Team (BCIT) has been requested to respond and investigate the officer-involved shooting. Per Boulder Police policy, the officers have been placed on paid, administrative leave.
