Boulder Parks and Rec has been hiring and training lifeguards and performing maintenance on the pools to make them a destination for family fun and lap swimming this summer.
Summer pool plans for Boulder Parks and Recreation
Scott Carpenter pool
Lap pool – Opens Monday, May 6. Open from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. through Sunday, May 26 with some swim lanes open for family swimming on the weekends.
Leisure pool - The leisure pool and splash pad will open on Saturday, May 25, and be open from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The slides, lazy river, deep pool, and shallow area/splash pad may rotate availability depending on staffing levels.
The lazy river will operate without tubes all season, based on feedback we heard from the community. Enjoy!
The concession area at the pool will open on Memorial Day and will be serving great treats throughout the summer, including their popular grilled cheese sandwiches!
On Memorial Day for the Boulder Bolder, Scott Carpenter pool, Spruce pool and North Boulder Recreation Center’s pool will all be open from 1-6 p.m.
Spruce pool
Spruce pool will open Saturday, May 25. It will operate Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Swim Lessons will run Tuesday through Friday from 9-11 a.m.
Be a part of the World’s Largest Swim Lesson at Spruce Pool! Come take a free swim lesson for all ages as we promote water safety awareness and teach water safety skills. It will take place on Thursday, June 20 from 9-11 a.m.
Indoor pools
Our focus will generally be on outdoor pool operations, but we are hopeful that the indoor pools at North Boulder Recreation Center, East Boulder Community Center, and South Boulder Recreation Center will be open full hours.
We’ll have more information to share in mid-May once we’ve hired most of our lifeguards, so check our website, social media and future aquatics emails.
