The city celebrated the winners of the city’s first-ever snowplow naming contest over the weekend at an awards ceremony.
The winners got their photo taken in front of a city snowplow with their winning name and received a certificate.
“We were so impressed with the creative names you came up with and we can’t wait to use them for our snowplows this winter,” said Scott Schlecht, city Transportation Maintenance Manager, in opening remarks.

The winning names, selected from more than 200 entries, were:
- Snowie
- Snow Gobbler
- Mighty One
- Happy Tracks
- Super Scooper
- Frosting
- Plowzer
- Plower Power
- Darth Blader
- Ice Blade

The contest was open to students grades K-5 in Boulder. Thanks to all the students who entered the contest and helped the city name our snowplows this year!
