All City of Boulder administrative facilities, public libraries and Age Well Centers will be closed Monday, May 29, for the Memorial Day holiday. Some facilities and services will be open.
This year’s Arts in the Park performing arts series will include four performances by three Boulder-based arts organizations:
Boulder Ballet’s mixed repertoire program will feature a collection of short works that showcase the expansive range of ballet. The Boulder Symphony will perform symphonic classics, from Copland to William Tell, Star Wars music by John Williams, Gregory T.S. Walker’s music for Rapper and Orchestra, and the 1812 Overture. Boulder Opera’s family-friendly concert will feature some of the city’s most talented rising artists, performing classic arias and scenes from Das Rheingold, Die Walkure, Siegfried and Gotterdammerung.
Colorado-based artist Jerod Barker is also back for the third year to design the artwork for this year’s Arts in the Park poster.
For all events, food trucks will be on-site. Beer and wine will be available for purchase at events with proceeds benefiting the PLAY Boulder Foundation. The city is partnering with PLAY Boulder Foundation, the Downtown Boulder Partnership and Avery Brewing Company to facilitate alcohol sales to the community.
