Making a Police Report Online is Fast, Easy and Secure

The Boulder Police Department offers several ways to report a crime, accident or traffic complaint. Remember to Always Call 9-1-1 for Emergencies.

Welcome to the Boulder Police Department Community Online Reporting System. Using the online system allows you to submit a report immediately and print a copy for free. Please read all instructions before completing the form. If the crime you wish to report is not listed below, or if you have any questions, please contact the Boulder Police Department Communications Center at 303-441-3333.

How to File a Police Report

Emergencies

  • Please call 911 only if you are reporting an EMERGENCY.

Online

  1. Verify the Following Conditions

    You can file your report online if all of the following are true:

    • This is not an emergency.
    • This incident occurred within the Boulder City limits.
    • There is no suspect information (reporting criteria is different for Vehicle Accident).

    If this is an emergency, call 9-1-1. If you have suspect information for an incident that occurred in city limits, call 303-441-3333.

  2. Complete the Report
    • Fill out the form in the Boulder Police Department Online Reporting System as completely and accurately as possible.
    • Include detailed information, such as serial number and value for lost or stolen property.
    • If you need to report more than one type of crime or multiple crimes, you will need to submit a separate online form for each event.
  3. Upon Completion of This Report
    • You will see the words: "Your online police report has been submitted" showing that your police report is complete.
    • Be given a temporary case number until a permanent case number is assigned.
    • Be able to print a copy of the police report to keep for your records.

By phone

  • Please call dispatch's non-emergency line at 303-441-3333 to report other crimes or incidents.

In-person

  • Counter reports can be made in the lobby of the Public Safety Building, 1805 33rd St., weekdays between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
  • Please be aware that there may be a wait if the report requires a conversation with an officer and the officer has to be called in from the street.

Please Note

  • All cases filed using the Online Police Reporting System will be reviewed.
  • Upon review, if further investigation of your case is needed, you may be contacted.
  • Reporting of any crime that is false or malicious is punishable by law. Violators will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. All violators will be prosecuted for filing a false police report to authorities. Police report information is public record.
