Boulder Fire-Rescue believes that community risk reduction through education is an important step to empower residents and spread public awareness about fire and life safety risks. Our crews meet with community members to share training and educational programs that teach and demonstrate simple steps individuals can take towards improving their fire and life safety. Boulder Fire-Rescue has a formal request process for community outreach and education services.

Road injuries are the leading cause of preventable deaths and injuries to children in the United States. To make matters worse, more than half of car seats are not used or installed correctly.
You can keep your child safe while traveling by having the right car seat installed in the right way. Correctly used child safety seats can reduce the risk of death by as much as 71%. Boulder Fire-Rescue is here to help ensure your family is safe on the road, too!
Please make an appointment. It may take a week to schedule your appointment with a certified technician. We do not take appointments on the weekend.
Have a Boulder Fire Engine come by for a visit to your community event. This is a great opportunity to ask the firefighters questions and see the fire engine up close. We are happy to come by for approximately 30 to 45 minutes to events such as nonprofit organizations, neighborhood association sponsored events and other community events held inside the city limits of Boulder. We do not attend private events such as birthday parties.
Availability: 7 days a week. We may not be able to accommodate all event requests due to firefighter training and other scheduling conflicts.

The crew may be late to the event if they are currently on an emergency call.
Please note, our fire stations and crews vary in size and may not be able to accomodate your group. We will work with you on an alternative plan if needed.

Supporting Information
Please note the following when submitting a request:
- Please make all requests at least THREE WEEKS AND NO MORE THAN 90 DAYS in advance to help us balance community requests with emergency responses, trainings, fire inspections, and other firefighter responsibilities. Please understand that if your event date is sooner than three weeks from today, we are unable to participate in your event.
- Please complete all fields. If a field does not apply, please type “n/a.” Your request will not be completed if there is any missing information and will be marked in red.
- While firefighters enjoy participating in community events, our first priority is providing quality, timely, and professional emergency services to those who live in, work in, and visit the City of Boulder. We may not be able to accommodate all event requests due to firefighter training and other scheduling conflicts.
- If a fire crew attends your event, they will typically remain “in service” and stage the apparatus somewhere that allows them to leave quickly if they are dispatched to an emergency.
- Fire crew visits at community events are scheduled for 30 minutes, with the understanding that responding to an emergency may cause the crew to be late to the event, to have to leave abruptly, or in some cases, to not show up at all.
- We aim to confirm the event within one week of the requested event date.
