Public trees in Boulder

Colorful fall foliage

The City of Boulder is committed to maintaining a healthy and safe urban forest as well as preserving an extensive and diverse tree cover for future generations. A healthy urban tree canopy maximizes the visual, social, economic, health and environmental services this natural resource has to offer for our residents and visitors.

Boulder Forestry manages over 51,000 public trees in city parks and street rights-of-way.

In commercial districts, adjacent property owners have a duty to maintain street trees. If you own property in our commercial areas, please review our guide for tree care and watering.
