Formerly known as Civic Area and Central Park, this downtown park was recently renamed as part of the Boulder Creek Park Phase 2 Project.
It is adjacent to the site of the Boulder County Farmers’ Market, featuring Boulder Creek access, a playground, and open turf for picnicking and other recreational activities.
Just up the path is the Evert Pierson Kids Fishing Pond.
Join the City of Boulder for Arts in the Park, a program providing a vibrant blend of arts and cultural performances to be held at the historic Glenn Huntington Band Shell in Boulder’s Boulder Creek Park.
Boulder Creek Park provides children with access to Boulder Creek, whether it is by simply dipping their feet in the water, or entering the water by tubing or kayaking. This creates an environment suitable for exploration and discovery of nature along the creek’s edges. The park has a variety of educational signage regarding information about Boulder’s flood history and control, water use and native species, including the Gilbert White Memorial Flood Level Marker. The Gilbert White Memorial Flood Level Marker is an 18-foot tall LED-illuminated structure that shows the creek's 50-year, 100-year, 500-year and Big Thompson historic flood levels. The structure was planned, designed and constructed by a committee of Gilbert's colleagues, friends and family, who also helped raise funds for the marker with private contributions and fundraising events. The marker was donated to the city and is maintained by the Parks and Recreation Department.
