Boulder Police Investigating Several Strong Leads in Overnight Shooting

In observance of the winter holidays, the City of Boulder is adjusting its operations schedules.
BOULDER, Colo. – The Boulder Police Department is following up on several strong leads in connection to a shooting that occurred last night in the city.
At approximately 10 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 27, officers received a call about a shooting in the 1300 block of Canyon Boulevard. Officers arrived on scene within three minutes and found the victim shot in the leg. Officers quickly applied a tourniquet and took the victim in a patrol car to the hospital where they are now in stable condition.
The victim had been sleeping outside when they were confronted by the suspect, who ran away after the shooting. Detectives are still investigating whether they knew each other. Though our initial information indicated the victim was male, the victim told detectives today that they identify as female.
Boulder Police coordinated with the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office and one of their K9s to track the suspect’s movements immediately after the shooting but were unable to locate the suspect.
Today detectives are following up on several strong leads and encourage anyone who witnessed any part of this incident or has any information related to this crime to call Boulder Police below. The Boulder Police Department will release more information as the investigation continues.
