City of Boulder closures for Memorial Day holiday, May 27

All City of Boulder administrative facilities and Age Well Centers will be closed Monday, May 27, for the Memorial Day holiday. The following facilities and services will be open:

  • North Boulder Recreation Center will be open from 1:30-6 p.m. East Boulder Community Center and South Boulder Recreation Center will be closed.
  • Scott Carpenter Pool lap lanes and leisure pool areas will be open from 1-6 p.m.
  • Spruce Pool will be open from 1-6 p.m.
  • Boulder Reservoir will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. with the swim area open from 10-6 p.m. Weekday permits are not valid on Memorial Day.
  • Flatirons Golf Course will be open from sunrise to sunset for tee times depending on weather conditions.
  • Open Space and Mountain Parks trails and trailheads will be open. Visit OSMPTrails.org to plan your visit to city open space.


On Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, parking is free on city streets and in all city-owned lots and downtown garages, Paid parking is in effect at/near Chautauqua Park on the holiday.

The free Park-to-Park shuttle to Chautauqua runs from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends and holidays beginning Saturday, May 25 through Labor Day, Sept. 2. The shuttle will run on a new route this year via Broadway instead of 9th Street. For city parking information, visit the Parking Guide.

Community members should be aware that there will be heavy traffic impacts and road closures on Monday, May 27, due to the BOLDERBoulder. It is recommended to use alternative transportation and parking options during this time.
