Upcoming work will replace the wooden deck boards that visitors walk or ride across
Starting as early as Monday, March 31, the City of Boulder’s Open Space and Mountain Parks (OSMP) Department will temporarily close the bridge over Community Ditch on the Doudy Draw Trail to conduct bridge improvements and maintenance work.
The bridge maintenance work is part of ongoing efforts to address trail and recreational infrastructure maintenance needs across the city’s 162-mile trail system – a key city open space priority. As part of upcoming work, OSMP will replace the wooden deck boards that visitors walk or ride across to help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for years to come.
What to Expect:
Closure Area: The Doudy Draw Trail bridge over Community Ditch will be closed and prevent access to trails south of the bridge, such as Spring Brook Loop and Flatirons Vista trails. View a map of the closure area below or download a JPEG image.
Closure Duration: 24 hours a day, March 31 through April 4 – weather permitting.
Trail Impacts: Only the bridge will be closed. All other trails in the area will be open but visitors will need to use alternate access points to gain access beyond the bridge. Visitors entering the area from the Doudy Draw Trailhead will be able to approach the bridge closure and access the Community Ditch Trail to the east, but there is no access across the bridge to the south.
Alternative Options: Visitors will be able to access other trails – including other sections of the Doudy Draw Trail and the Springbrook North/South Loop and Flatirons Vista-area trails – from:
