Driver Arrested for DUI in Traffic Crash

BOULDER, Colo. – Boulder Police officers have arrested a driver on charges after a traffic crash last night that caused serious bodily injury to a woman.

At approximately 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, Boulder Police responded to a three-vehicle crash in the southbound lanes of Foothills Parkway between Pearl Street and Arapahoe Avenue. The initial investigation indicates a man driving a Ford Edge struck a Toyota Corolla which then struck the vehicle in front of it, a Subaru Impreza.

The adult female driver of the Corolla suffered serious bodily injury and was transported to the hospital. The adult female driver and passenger in the Impreza were also transported to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.

The driver of the Edge—Marico Antonio Arellano-Munoz, 23—was uninjured and booked into the jail on the below charges:
• 18-3-205(1)(B)(I): felony vehicular assault-driving under the influence
• 42-4-1301(1)(A): misdemeanor driving under influence
• 42-4-1402(1)(2)(B): misdemeanor careless driving causing injury
• 42-2-101(1): misdemeanor driving without valid license
• 42-4-1409(3): misdemeanor failure to present proof of insurance
