Here’s some need-to-know information for the week:
Marijuana Hospitality Establishment recommendations available in April 20 meeting packet
I just wanted to flag for you that your April 20 council meeting packet includes an Information Item that summarizes the Cannabis Licensing and Advisory Board’s recommendations regarding Marijuana Hospitality Establishments in Boulder.
The board discussed this topic over a series of meetings between April 2021 and March 2023, resulting in a recommendation that the city opt-in to a state law that allows hospitality establishments in the city. There is also a series of regulatory recommendations such as training requirements, minimum legal age, hours of service, transportation, and allowed products.
There is no policy discussion/decision regarding Marijuana Hospitality Establishments on council workplan. If there is council interest in this matter, then it will need to be raised by a council member to the Council Agenda Committee as a request for consideration for a future discussion item or raised at the next Council Retreat.
