Here’s some need-to-know information for the week:

Second round of community engagement opens for Multimodal Improvements Assessment on OSMP lands

Open Space and Mountain Parks (OSMP) Department is moving into the next stage of its Multimodal Improvements Assessment, a systemwide effort to identify opportunities to improve multimodal access to and within the OSMP system and make Boulder's open spaces easier to reach without a vehicle. The project supports Citywide Strategic Plan Action Item 7C and the OSMP Climate Action Plan.

Starting Aug. 14, OSMP will open a new stage of community feedback on draft multimodal solutions developed through community input, technical analysis and staff evaluation. An online questionnaire will be available through Aug. 30, inviting the community to review the draft package of solutions and share feedback before solutions are finalized.

The draft package of solutions focuses on potential improvements such as trail connections and allowed uses, trailhead and access point enhancements, signage and wayfinding, and community education and outreach.

The project has generated significant community interest, particularly related to a potential bike trail connection from South Boulder to OSMP’s Doudy Draw trailhead and trail.

In addition to the draft package of solutions, the questionnaire also includes a potential approach for how a southwest bicycle connection could be made. No recommendation or decision has been made regarding this connection, and community feedback on the potential solution for how this connection could be made will help inform a future recommendation.
