Here’s some need-to-know information for the week:
Holiday Closures
In observance of the winter holidays, the City of Boulder is adjusting its operations schedules.
Transportation and Mobility Department opens first round of engagement for snow and ice response review
This week, the city will be inviting the community to participate in an on-demand open house and online questionnaire in both English and Spanish to collect input on its snow and ice response program. The feedback will be used to help inform an upcoming review of the program. The format of the open house and questionnaire allows community members to learn about the current program and provide input at their convenience.
Clearing snow and ice in Boulder is a partnership between multiple city departments, including Transportation and Mobility, Parks and Recreation and Code Enforcement, local partners and private property owners. The review is focused on identifying potential changes to snow and ice clearing on streets, bus stops, multi-use paths, the bike network and shoveled areas maintained by the city’s Transportation and Mobility Department.
The goal of this project is to build awareness of how the city currently responds when it snows, understand the community’s preference on snow and ice services, and consider changes for more efficient and effective service delivery.
The online questionnaire will be open through March 17 and will focus on increasing awareness of where, when and why snow and ice clearing services are delivered, as well as collect feedback about the program. There will be additional opportunities for input this summer. Implementation of any proposed changes to the program is dependent on available resources and may occur in the 2023/2024 winter season at the earliest.
