Human Relations Funding Changes

The Human Relations Commission (HRC) has refined the Human Relations Funding criteria for the 2022 funding season. Grants may be given to nonprofits whose projects have a significant component of programming that impacts the Boulder community or reinforces the city’s goals of respect for diversity, inclusivity, and equity.

The HRC is committed to supporting community-initiated activities that focus on or raise awareness of civil rights, human rights, or equity issues in Boulder; facilitate interaction, understanding, collaboration and civic participation among diverse communities; or enable communities that experience marginalization to celebrate events significant to them while providing learning opportunities to the general population.

For 2022, the HRC has approximately $30,000 in general grant funds available for allocation. The HRC reviews grant requests on a rolling basis at their monthly meetings, which are typically held the third Monday of each month. Applications for funding are due one week before each monthly meeting. Please note, the February HRC meeting will take place on Wednesday Feb. 23, due to the Presidents’ Day holiday, and the deadline for funding applications in February is Wednesday, Feb. 16.
