Boulder PD COVID-19 measures
Due to COVID-19, and the threat that this pandemic presents to the public as well as our emergency responders, measures to prevent the spread are in place within the Boulder Police Department.
Unclaimed property is destroyed, donated or auctioned after 60 days. Property without a known owner (abandoned or found) is held for 10 days past the public notification, currently published in the Daily Camera every month.
The Boulder Police Department no longer holds auctions for abandoned, lost or found items. The Boulder Police Department now contracts with Propertyroom.com for the sale of auction items. Community members interested in bidding online can go to Property Room.
Evidence is held until a final disposition is reached (Notice of Final Action from DA, or statute of limitations expire, etc.). After proper approval to release evidence is received a property card is sent to the owner advising the item(s) of evidence are ready to be released.
To retrieve your property from the Evidence Vault, you must first make an appointment.
We will help walk-ins as we can, but it’s much easier when people have appointments. We can also accept early or late appointments on a case-by-case basis.
