Overview
Community Foundation Boulder County established the Resilience Fund in 2025 to support nonprofits serving the Boulder County community with education, technical assistance, and financial support. Training, resources, and collaboration opportunities have been created to help nonprofits build long-term stability and support a vibrant, equitable community.
The Collaboration Grants funding opportunity is a combined effort of Boulder County Arts Alliance, the City of Boulder Office of Arts and Culture, and Community Foundation Boulder County.
Grant Program
Collaboration Grants support Boulder County nonprofits and fiscally sponsored projects that are exploring or building partnerships to strengthen their organizations, make better use of resources and better serve the community.
We encourage proposals that support formal partnerships, shared services or mergers involving two or more organizations. These collaborations should help reduce administrative work, improve efficiency and expand or strengthen services for community members.
Examples of requests include funding to explore or support:
- Sharing administrative functions among multiple organizations in areas including, but not limited to, finance, payroll, human resources, IT support, grant administration, or marketing/promotion.
- Co-locating office or program space among two or more organizations.
- Creating joint leadership or management roles to support multiple organizations.
- Developing formal partnerships, fiscal sponsorships, or shared governance models.
- Mergers and/or consolidations of two or more organizations.
The following will not be considered by this funding opportunity:
- Projects designed to assess or increase the capacity of a single organization.
- Support to start an organization, program or service.
- Direct program delivery or any general organizational expenses.
Grant funds may be used to support expenses such as consultant fees, legal assistance, planning and/or implementation costs.
Priority will be given to:
- Significant formal strategic partnerships, shared services or mergers between two or more entities with the potential to reduce administrative burden and/or improve services.
- Collaborations that would improve equitable outcomes for historically marginalized populations in Boulder County.
