Victim Advocates
Victim Advocates work closely with police officers and provide a service that is extremely valuable to the whole community. Our volunteers come from all walks of life and backgrounds, but they all have empathy, compassion and dedication.
Are you interested in really making a difference for someone? Would you like to be a part of a team that provides opportunities for self-growth and fulfillment? Then volunteer as a Victim Advocate for the Boulder Police Department!

- Advocate must be available to respond during their designated shifts
- Must have a valid Colorado driver’s license, licensed and insured vehicle, and a personal phone and computer

Time Commitment
Volunteers must be able to commit to one year of service, participate in monthly team meetings, and serve 48 hour on call hours per month during assigned shifts.
Training Provided
The 40 hour training academy is offered in the Spring & Fall. Participants receive instruction in trauma informed response, victimology, and law enforcement procedures.

“Being able to support people through their worst days gives me a sense of connection and purpose, and the feedback we receive is that our services are absolutely critical for victims during their time of need. I’m proud to work with our team of Victim Advocate volunteers, and we hope more people will join us this spring.”
