SBRC community lounge in use

At South Boulder Recreation Center, there’s a new place to hang out, socialize, and have fun. Located next to the basketball gym, the former downstairs Pilates studio is now the Community Lounge!

Amenities

  • various seating in lounge chairs, a sofa, and a cafeteria-style table.

The lounge comfortably fits about 20. Snacks and covered drinks are allowed in the space.

Entry

Admission to the lounge is included as part of a rec center pass or paying the daily entry fee. Entry fees & pass options

Another entry option is the $2 Community Lounge/gym pass. This pass is available to BVSD students during the school year and allows access only to the Community Lounge and the gymnasium. The pass is valid Monday – Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Community Lounge/gym pass details

Community Lounge Party & Rental Information

Basic Lounge Party – 60 Minutes

Exclusive access to the Community Lounge during your event. Amenities include a foosball table, lounge & cafe seating, table tennis, board games, television, and WiFi. *Maximum 20 Participants

Fee: $110 Resident: $80

Party times: Available during all non-programmed operating hours.

Lounge+ Parties:

Admission to gym, ninja studio, pool, and fitness areas are not included in the basic lounge party. For additional amenities check out the party packages below.

Ninja+ Party - 90 minutes

Exclusive access to the Ninja Obstacle Studio and Community Lounge during your event. Personalized choice of hanging obstacles during the event. Hanging obstacles can include rings, cannon ball grips, cheese walls, swinging rope bridge, and more. *Maximum 12 Participants

Fee: $250 Resident: $200

Obstacle Training: $30/hr *based on instructor availability.

Party times: Available during all non-programmed operating hours

Gymnasium+ Party - 90 minutes

Exclusive access to a half gym and the Community Lounge during your event. Personalized choice of sports equipment during the event. Sports include basketball, volleyball, pickleball, badminton, and futsol soccer.

Fee: $250 Resident: $200

Party times: Available during all non-programmed operating hours. *Additional party times may be available during Open Gym times when exclusive use of a half gym is not available.

Pool+ Party - 90 minutes

Pool parties are not currently available for reservation.

Rent the Community Lounge for your next scout or club meeting, social outing, or teambuilding event. With your rental you will receive exclusive access to the space for up to 20 participants. Amenities include a foosball table, lounge & cafe seating, table tennis, board games, television, portable white board, and WiFi. See below for more information.

Youth Meeting Rental

Youth Engagement & Activity was identified as a Key Theme in the Boulder Parks and Recreation Master Plan Update. The Community Lounge was developed as a space to support local youth & teen engagement. To further support and prioritize this Key Theme, rentals with a youth focus* will receive a discounted hourly rate.

Youth Focused Rental Fee: $40/hr

Rental Times: Available during all non-programmed operating hours

*A youth focused rental requires the majority of participants under the age of 18. Examples of youth focused group rentals include scout troop meetings, homeschool meet-ups, youth club meetings, and youth group outing.

Adult Meeting Rental

Adult Focused Rental Fee: $55/hr

Rental Times: Available during all non-programmed operating hours
