This orientation provides an introduction to the weight room equipment to help our members become familiar with proper operation and ensure safe use. It is not a personal training lesson.

Weight Room Orientations are free 30-minute sessions available to anyone with a City of Boulder Recreation membership that includes access to Recreation Centers.
Examples of memberships/programs that do not qualify:
- Reservoir-only memberships
- Boat permits purchased as memberships
- Participants enrolled only in the gymnastics program
Requirements by Age:
- Under the age of 12:
Not permitted in the weight room or cardio area. Weight Room Orientations are not available until the youth member turns 12. - Ages 12 and 13:
Must complete a 30-minute orientation with a personal trainer before using the weight room or cardio area. A chaperone is recommended during workouts, but not required. - Age 14 and Older:
Orientation is optional, but strongly encouraged to learn equipment use, safety practices, and weight training policies.Our 30-minute youth weight room orientation is designed to help members become familiar with the equipment, learn how to use it safely, and understand our weight training policies and protocols.
