Trailhead Description

The Centennial Trailhead accesses the Mount Sanitas and Red Rocks areas. The trailhead is on the south side of Sunshine Canyon, just west of the Sanitas access point.

Located at the trailhead.

Picnic Facilities

Four picnic tables at trailhead. Across the street at the Sanitas access, there are three picnic tables and a small pavilion.

Transportation

South side of Sunshine Canyon, just west of the Sanitas access point.

Bus Connections

There is a bus stop at Broadway and Mapleton with a nine-block walk or bike ride west on Mapleton to the trailhead. The SKIP, 208 and Y routes all stop at Broadway and Mapleton. All OSMP trailheads have bike racks.

Centennial Trailhead has 31 standard parking spaces and 2 ADA spaces.

Bike Regulations

This area does not have any trails that allow mountain biking.

Learn about bringing your dog to OSMP. Dogs must be on a hand-held leash at all times unless they meet the voice and sight control standard and display a City of Boulder Voice and Sight tag. Dog excrement removal is required by law. A dog station is available to aid in the collection of dog excrement.

Horse Regulations

Horses are allowed on most trails. Horse trailer parking is not recommended at this trailhead. Learn more about riding your horse on OSMP.

Wildlife

Black bears, mountain lions, and mule deer inhabit the area.
