Trailhead Description

Left Hand Trailhead provides access to Left Hand Trail. Left Hand Trail provides hiking, biking and equestrian access to Boulder Valley Ranch trails and offers a scenic overlook of Left Hand Valley Reservoir, although the reservoir itself is on private property. This area is closed when conditions are too muddy; please check the trail map for closures before visiting.

Restrooms

No facilities at the trailhead, but there are restrooms managed by Boulder County Parks and Open Space at the picnic pavilion 3/4 mile southwest of the trailhead.

Picnic Facilities

Available at pavilion 3/4 mile southwest of trailhead, only available through reservation with Boulder County Parks and Open Space Department.

Transportation

One mile east of Highway 36 on Neva Road.

The Left Hand Trailhead has 36 standard parking spaces.

Area Info

Bike Regulations

Allowed on Left Hand Trail, Eagle and Sage trails on Boulder Valley Ranch. Bicycles may be ridden only on those trails that are posted with the international bicycle symbol.

E-Bikes

Class 1 and Class 2 e-bikes are allowed on the Eagle, Sage, North Rim, and Left Hand Trails in the Boulder Valley Ranch area. Learn more in the Guide to Electric Bikes on Open Space.

Horse Regulations

Wildlife

Birds of prey are frequently sighted in this area. Coyotes and mule deer have been sighted. Rattlesnakes might be encountered during summer.
