Help implement our shared Climate Action Plan

You helped shape the plan. Now let’s put it to work.

Climate change is a global challenge, but there is a lot we can do locally to have an impact on the global system. Addressing the systems that cause climate change, like our economic system's reliance on fossil fuels, for example, requires a new, systems-change approach. This page offers ideas for actions that, if done collectively, can lead to systems change, in addition to actions to reduce your individual impact on the environment.

Opportunities in 2026

Thanks for your interest! As additional opportunities and details emerge throughout the year, staff will update this page and include those same details in our Climate Initiatives Newsletter. Sign up to receive updates.

A note on climate equity and justice

It is important to remind ourselves that climate change disproportionately harms those who contribute least to its causes and who are most vulnerable to its impacts. As such, the city is committed to addressing climate injustice and fostering a fair distribution of climate burdens and benefits. To hold ourselves accountable, we will encourage, listen to and act on ideas and concerns from historically marginalized community members. This summer, we will invite applications for 2-3 community connectors who will help lift up these voices as we implement the Climate Action Plan together. Details will be shared in an upcoming newsletter.
