A Safe and Welcoming Community

The City of Boulder Public Safety Team is diligently working to ensure the highest level of service so that your experience here is safe and enjoyable. The Boulder Police Department and Boulder Fire-Rescue are meeting regularly and coordinating with several other law enforcement and community partners such as the Boulder Office of Disaster Management, the University of Colorado Boulder Police Department and Colorado State Patrol to make sure robust safety initiatives are in place and secure before January 2027.

The City of Boulder has more than 46,640 acres of preserved and protected land. On 155 miles of trails, you can find wildlife habitat, unique geologic features and greenways.

Property Owners

The Festival Lodging Rental License allows Boulder homeowners to rent out their home for 29 days or less a year during a major festival in the city. The license is designed to allow visitors to stay in Boulder while attending city-approved, large, multi-day festivals and events, known as Special Festival Events.

Tentants and Long-Term Rental License Holders

Owners of and tenants in properties with Long-Term Rental Licenses can also rent out their space during city-approved Special Festival Events. Tenants must receive the property owner’s consent to participate.
