Boulder Parks and Recreation Department (BPR) offers spaces throughout the city for individual use and rental. In order to a host an event or operate a program in BPR parks or facilities, a permit may be required.

Special Events
A special event permit is required for all planned and promoted public activities conducted on public property that meet any of the following criteria:
- When the expected number of participants and spectators totals 50 or more people; and/or
- When using tents, structures and/or sound amplification; and/or
- When providing, selling or distributing alcohol and/or food to the public; and/or
- When using public right of ways (e.g., city streets, multi-use paths and sidewalks), and/or impacting vehicle, bike or bus traffic.
Annual Customer Application (ACApp)
The Annual Customer Application (ACApp) is required for organizational renters who use Boulder Parks and Recreation (BPR) spaces. This applies to both exclusive and non-exclusive use and includes commercial and non-commercial activities.
Individual operators who charge fees for an activity on park property or accept donations for participation must also have an approved ACApp.
Commercial Activities at Parks & Recreation Properties
This program covers use of park spaces for commercial gain such as summer camps, group fitness instruction, running clubs and other operations that use Boulder Parks and Recreation (BPR) parks and facilities for business purposes.
