Trailhead Description

Enjoy spectacular city views from Panorama Point. Whether it is to admire twinkling city lights, fall foliage, or snow covered Boulder, this overlook gives you it's all. Kid and dog friendly.

Across Flagstaff Road, a short trail connects to the Flagstaff Trail. Viewpoint Trail heads north down toward Boulder Canyon and Eben G. Fine Park from Panorama Point.

Hours

The trailhead is open from 5 am to 9 pm daily.

There are three picnic tables available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Transportation

1.1 miles up Flagstaff Mountain Road on the east side of the street. Please note: the vehicle length limit for Flagstaff Road is 30 feet.

Parking

Small lot with a parking fee. Information on parking permits & fees. The trailhead has 14 standard parking spaces and one ADA space.

Bike Regulations

No bicycles are allowed on the trails.

Dog Regulations

Flagstaff Mountain Dog Regulations

Learn about bringing your dog to OSMP. Dogs must be on a hand-held leash at all times unless they meet the voice and sight control standard and display a City of Boulder Voice and Sight tag. Dog excrement removal is required by law. A dog station is available to aid in the collection of dog excrement.

Horse Regulations

Horses are allowed on most trails. On-trail riding is encouraged to protect rare plants and wildlife habitat. Learn more about riding your horse on OSMP.

Wildlife

Mountain Lions inhabit this area. Coyotes, foxes, mule deer and raptors are commonly sighted.
