How to apply for Pedal-Cab Agency and Pedal-Cab Driver License licenses and process checklist
Pedal-cab agency means any person engaged in the business of transporting persons for hire by means of one or more than one pedal-cab.
Pedal-cab driver means any person who drives a pedal- cab, including an agency, an employee of an agency, or any person who stands in the relationship of independent contractor to an agency.

Pedal-Cab Agency and Pedal-Cab Driver License Application Overview
- A Pedal-Cab Agency and Pedal-Cab Driver License application must be completely filled out and signed, including: i) applicant business name, ii) legal name, home address, and birth date of all owners, officers, managers and members, and iii) local address and local phone numbers.
- Certificate of insurance signed by agent with auto, general liability, and property damage insurance and naming the city and its officer as additional insured on liability policy for $1 million liability (see example on website)
- Operators for Pedal-Cab Drivers Licenses must submit a copy of their valid state driver and a copy of their motor vehicle driving history to be listed on the license.
- The completed application and all applicable fees must be received at least two weeks prior to beginning operations.
- A city business license must be obtained by the agency. For questions, email Sales Tax at salestax@bouldercolorado.gov.
- Please Note: Background checks will be completed on all operators listed for Pedal-Cab Drivers Licenses. There will be an additional background check fee of $7 per person, this fee will be added by Licensing Staff after the application has been submitted.
- Pedal-Cab Agency and Pedal-Cab Driver Licenses are valid for a two-year period and expire on December 31 of the second year of the license term. Licenses applied for and approved after January 1 of a given year will be valid for less than 2 years.

- Copy of driver history from the Department of Motor Vehicles for each driver/operator
