Multi-use paths (MUPs) are a central part of the community: the heart of walking, biking, scooting, skating and cycling in Boulder.

With a diverse group of people using the paths, it’s important to be safe and travel responsibly. Help keep Boulder's shared paths safe for everyone with these five tips:

Way of the Path

Share the path.

The path belongs to all of us. Be courteous and keep traffic moving.

Keep right. Pass left.

Stay alert and use an audible signal when passing.

15 mph speed limit.

Slow down in high-traffic areas and yield to pedestrians.

Keep dogs leashed.

And scoop the poop.

Be predictable and visible.

Headlights and/or reflectors are required for bikes, scooters, and other devices at night.

What devices are allowed?

What you ride changes where you ride. View a chart of which wheels go where. Learn where different e-micromobility can be used.
